la fondation Giacometti
Newly opened in the 14th, the Giacometti Institute is not the actual studio of the sculptor.
Its the former studio of artist and interior designer Paul Follot (famous for his beautiful furniture still available at auctions) in which a large library of books as well as art by Giacometti is collected. At the entrance a small room shows the artist’s real studio (or what was gathered by his wife) when he lived not too far 46, rue Hippolyte Maindron, a small 25 sqm appartement without water or heat.
The space is beautiful architecturally and some of the original details created by Follot are still there.
