Algiers, but in new Orleans
This is one of the less touristy and certainly most fun thing we did in Nola with Nina-
First you find the ferry station on Canal Street .. and wonder if any ferry is still running since there is nobody around, but eventually it arrives.
Its 2$ to cross and it takes about 10mn and the industrial scenery on the Mississippi is just beautiful.
and you arrive to ALGIERS, known as the 15th ward of Nola and the birthplace of Jazz.
a good stop is Congregation Coffee Roasters very close to the ferry, after you walk around this peaceful island.
